Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide specialized support for students ages 3-22 with moderate to severe disabilities within a K-12 school environment. This contract position spans the academic year from December 1, 2025, to May 22, 2026, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
Work will be performed onsite across six schools serving approximately 71 students, many of whom receive indirect services. The role requires collaboration with educational staff across five elementary schools (K-6) and one high school (grades 7-12) to deliver tailored occupational therapy interventions designed to enhance student participation and functional abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans aligned with school goals and student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state licensing guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Louisiana license as an Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience working within school settings, particularly with K-12 students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively engage with students, educators, and families.
- Ability to manage a caseload distributed across multiple school sites.
